hello!

young students are showing more interest towards engineering fields rather than pure sciences!so if the sciences field is more so called luring these young minds, then we have a huge potential in our country!

thanks

Besides the existing schemes of DST such as INSPIRE, SHE, Govt. may also encourge industries by giving some short of incentive for selecting Students from Science Graduate/Post Graduate on the similar line industries doing compus selection for IITs/Engineering colleges.

Apart from this, Syllabus of these courses needs to be applied courses. Presently it is more theoretical. Science Education may be made more interesting by providing them Science Model and Science kits to inculcate their temper.

Dear Planning Commission,

There is no other alternative but to give practical training to younger generation (as earlier as in high school) which arouses the curiosity in science research in their minds. This can be done by setting up scholarship or summer fellowship for students to attend close by research institutions, universities as well as industries. The industries doesn't have to do research in order to entertain the students. It can be in manufacturing as well as in service sector. At the end of the day we need to keep the science sustainable by creating jobs. Unless they are comfortable to know that they can find jobs in different areas (not just IT) it will be impossible to persuade them to take science curriculum.

India is full of talent and what lack in scientific research is opportunity. opportunity which is constraint by education system, awareness among undergraduates and willingness of the student.

Other than gov scholarship and incentive at senior level, more awareness and opportunities should be provided by different organization be it gov or private at undergraduate level.
Engg collage are doing somewhat in this regards by organizing techfests at different IIT and NIT but this remain as hobby not with research approach.
DRDO organize an all India level robotic competition every year which is in itself a good step, other organization must learn from it and nurture undergraduate mind by such competition, seminars and exhibition not only for engineering but also in basic science.

Undergraduate student must be give some scholarship for publishing paper and doing some real scientific work in engineering as well as core science as it was given to postgraduate student.

Education system must improve to encourage student for thinking rather then just mugging and get passed in exam. It is the responsibility of both teacher and student to take participate in such programs .

Through school level competition for innovative ideas and innovations talent could be identified. Such talent should be separated and scholarships awarded to them for pursuing their specific interest. They need not study other irrelevant subjects.
