Hi,

One of the ways is to recycle the water ,today most of top business firms do have facility to install and utilize the technological support for recycling.

else the pooling of base can be made like setting up a single recycle plant and others can get benefit by paying only for the use of recycling.

thanks

India must be willing to dream big and most importantly be open to ideas based on how other successful nations have done.
The pdfs from the following link shows tiny Abu Dhabi's economic vision for 2030.

I want to tell u i m in National Hydro Power Corp Ltd and i want to give u some practical thing about water harvesting schemes, govt want to provide money for tanks and tubewells but before that it gives money for bore well and motor. So what happens that this step is completed and then motor starts for 24 hours but there is no construction of tank. So when it is constructed bore well may have dried.
Like wise every village has its own system of water harvesting but govt don't want to survey that.

Sir,

1. Making rain water harvesting mandatory for not only individual household but also for builders.
2. Raising price of water supplied to houses, if it is so called demanded and abused commodity, it should be charged high, people would be aware themselves to conserve and use as much as required. If one house-hold pays a bill of Rs 300 per month, and instead they have to pay a hefty Rs 1500 or more, then definitely difference in utilization would be visible. Then link this bill backwards, to water harvesting, people can redeem their bills by corresponding water harvested during the year. This would keep the bills at same rate and would do wonders.
3. A beautiful project was started by Earlier government, which is still struck in the files. The project was to connect all major rivers of India. It is visible that half of India is washed away in floods while remaining half strives for water and rain. Ultimately this water is going to sea, which is of no use to us. Linking all major rivers would to many things such as (a) Can mitigate problems of floods (b) Would supply water to water deficient areas (c) Would save crops from floods and crops in deficient areas would survive too (d) this should enable farmers with more disposable income (e) Water level in deficient areas would rise (f) Would provide employment as this project is a longer project many be 5-10 years long and worth Rs 1,50,000 lacs crore. The present government seems to be egoistic, although they are approving the earlier government's idea but are conservative to implement it, because they have fear that someone else would get the credit of the idea.

Hi
In addition of points mention in earlier posts like:-
1. Rain water harvesting
2. BETTER IRRIGATION METHODS
3. PLANT TREES AND INCREASE THE GREEN COVER
4. WATER METERING SYSTEM

a important factor will be Awareness among people to conserve water, many people waste water a lot, in washing, in cleaning, gardening, some time leaking tap, overflowing water tanks and many more.. There should be awareness among them not to waste it and use as much required as it is a resource which if gets depleted will create a lot of problems in future, so to start with instead of blaming government or any other agencies first we should look at ourselves and should ask our self :-
1. Are we conserving water?
2. Are we not wasting it?
3. What effort we are putting to conserve it?
and if we answer these questions positively according to me 45% of water shortage problem will be solved then we can start blaming others :P

Dear Friends,

Change irrigation practices at any cost as early as possible. Sprinkler and drips should be used instead of flood irrigation. Tube wells below 100 or150fts (what ever is decided by our Geologist) should not be allowed. This will not only save the water but also prevent soil erosion. It will help in optimum use of fertilizers by the plant and bad affect of fertilizer on soil will be minimized.

Pramod

On 28 July 2010, UN General Assembly declares access to clean water and sanitation as a human right.
We are facing a big problem of clean water in 21st Century; WE CAN BRING A MAJOR POSITIVE CHANGE by living ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY LIFE. New Urbanization and Industrialization must fulfill all the parameters of ENVIRONMENT AND WATER BODIES [ underground water, rivers, lakes, wetlands, oceans and glaciers] PROTECTION LAWS and ACTS; old cities and industries must adopt new technologies and infrastructure to treat sewage and pollutants and recycle these; there must be complete ban on release of sewage and industrial influents into water bodies. ENVIRONMENT FRIENDLY LIFESTYLE and FAMILY PLANNING must be made a compulsory fundamental duty for every citizen.
